Dark Chocolate is Good for Your Heart!

I always heard my friends and colleagues said that Chocolate is the main causes of obesity and it has a bad effect on our health. Since I’m the type of person that only believe to the scientific proof, that’s why I will only believe one thing if you can show me the solid evident!

Instead of believing all the hearsay, I have tried to find out the truth fact of chocolate to our body health. Guess what! I have finally proofed that their words were wrong!

According to the United States Dietetic Association or also known as USDA, the chocolate is one of the healthy foods that have great benefits to our heart. Chocolate contains a substance called “Flavonols,” and it is an essential nutrient that can be used to promote human health.

The benefits of consuming chocolate are:

  1. It can help to enhance the blood circulation;
  2. It can lower the high blood pressure;
  3. It can reduce the chance of getting blood vessel blockage.

Basically, chocolate has a role that similar with Aspirin, where it can help to reduce the incidence of heart disease.

Beside of the chocolate, these following things also containing some flavonols as well:

  • Red wine;
  • Green Tea; (My favorite!)
  • Apples; (Not wonder the old saying, “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away!”)
  • Onions.

If you don’t want to buy processed chocolate, then you might want to choose the original dark chocolate, as it contains the highest flavonols of all. If you want a healthy heart, then try to consume 30 grams of dark chocolate biweekly!
